According to a news item on the Taiwan Patent Office's (TIPO) website, TIPO's patent and trademark e-filing system became a 24/7 service from 1 January 2016 onwards. This will allow applicants to file their applications on weekdays as well as on weekends.

Furthermore, TIPO has scheduled to terminate its old e-filing system, which has existed since 2003, on 1 January 2017. As the previous system could no longer meet current demands, a new e-filing system in 2012 was developed, which is now used by 75% of TIPO's e-filing users.
